Healthcare Assistant for the Operations Department

Job Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant with us, you will serve and be primarily placed in one of the units of the operations department. You will have great opportunities to broaden your knowledge and rotate among all our units, including our Preoperative unit if you are interested. You will be part of the team around the patient, which, in addition to you, consists of operating nurses, anesthetists, and doctors. Based on your own interests and competencies, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own area, such as medical technology, environment, or storage/e-commerce.

About the Workplace

The Operations Clinic is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery operations are conducted at the hospital in Köping. The more extensive surgeries, both emergency and elective, take place in Västerås. The surgical operations consist of surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and ear surgery. We also perform anesthesia outside the operating room, such as in radiology and maxillofacial surgery. We are available around the clock for trauma alarms and ambulance transports. There are a total of 23 operating rooms in the clinic, 4 rooms in Köping and 18 rooms in Västerås.

Your interests and the needs-based room allocation will guide placements and assignments. You will have a home clinic with the opportunity to specialize in one area and great opportunities to manage several different areas as a generalist. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained healthcare assistant and has at least 2 years of experience working as a healthcare assistant. If you also have experience in surgery or emergency care, it is an advantage, as well as an interest in medical technology knowledge/experience. Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish, so you need to have good skills in the Swedish language, both spoken, written, and reading comprehension. If you have worked in the Cosmic/Orbit journal systems, we consider it an advantage. The job requires standing and walking, as well as some heavy lifting, which means that you should have good physical ability.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You are someone who collaborates easily and communicates clearly with others. We see you as someone who is good at planning and structuring your work as well as being able to quickly prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances.

Employment Conditions

4 permanent positions, full-time, day/evening/weekend/night with a time valuation model of 37.0.

A probationary period may be applied in this recruitment.
